Forest Schools
Forest Schools will take place on Monday. Children should bring in wellies and appropriate clothing for their sessions (please see kit list below). Please note, that you are warmly encouraged to send in Forest School kit and leave it at school. Some of the children will be joining their year group for Forest School sessions - this will be discussed with individual parents.
PE
Our usual PE session / sensory circuits will be on Monday. We ask children to come to school wearing their P.E kit on Monday. Some of our children will be going to their year group classes for PE - this will be discussed with individual parents.
Lunch and toast
Toast is provided everyday at playtime and a wide variety of fruit is always available. Lunchtime is very calm in Bluebells - some of our children eat a school lunch or bring a packed lunch from home. Please discuss with Bluebells staff about any dietry requirements your child may have so that we are able to accommodate their needs. Water and squash is always available, but please feel free to send your child in with their own water bottle.
Achievement Assembly
Parents are welcome to Celebration assembly on Friday. A little note will be sent out on Thursday and a message sent on Class Dojo if your child will be receiving the Gold Ribbon the following day. Attending is obviously discretionary so there is no pressure on our children or families; your child will always be given their Gold Ribbon so they can take it home and display their achievements proudly.
Tapestry
In Bluebells we pride ourselves on our individualised learning for all of our students and their needs. Their timetable is bespoke to them and takes into consideration their sensory needs, EHCP targets, OT and Speech & language Targets, alongside the curriculum and their individual learning needs based on our dynamic assessments. We use Tapestry to share their learning and achievements with you - where we upload photographs of the activities they have completed so you can be part of their learning and their progress in school.
Reading and Phonics
A love of reading is a huge part of Outwoods philosophy and community - and this is very much encouraged for all our learners in Bluebells. Your child will be encouraged to handle and choose a variety of different books they might enjoy, they will read with a teacher everyday, they will listen to songs, stories and sensory stories as well as taking part in regular story massage sessions. Our older learners follow the Little Wandle reading and phonics scheme, which helps to develop their confidence and individual skills in reading. Reading books will be sent home on Friday to share with your child - they should be returned the following week so that we can change them and send a new book home.
