Maths in Reception

In Reception, we take a practical approach to teaching and learning maths. We aim to make their learning relatable to everyday situations that the children will have experienced. 

We enjoy listening to number songs, counting real objects, matching numerals and practising our number formation. 

This is the Maths Area and it is located in the Sun Hat classroom. 

In maths, you will be learning how to count, recognise and order numbers as well as exploring different shapes and patterns. We have lots of resources for you to independently select to help support your learning. There will be fun independent challenges set in this area for you to complete based on what we have been learning about.
