Thinktank Trip - We had an amazing time visiting the Thinktank in Birmingham. We learnt lots about science and enjoyed an electricity show. Our behaviour was also fantastic.
Red Nose Day - Flat Caps created crazy hair styles and wore red to support comic relief.
STEM Week - We have spent the week developing our STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) skills. We have found out how to reflect light, made mini wind turbines, designed STEM themed red noses and created mini outfits out of recyclable materials. We were even challenged to make something interesting out of an art straw - one group managed to make a conveyor belt!
Map Work - In geography, we have been learning how to use OS maps to find out about the human geography of Atherstone, Nuneaton, Coventry and Birmingham.
Art Enrichment Week - We all enjoyed learning about the work of Rene Magritte and creating a variety of pieces of artwork based on his work.
Science - Musical Instruments. We created our own instruments. We were challenged to make an instrument where you could change the pitch and volume.
Dress To Express!
Science - String Phones. We investigated what happened when you changed the material inside the cup. Did the sound get louder or quieter?
Hedgehog Talk - One of our class has had a hedgehog visiting his garden. He gave us a talk all about hedgehogs and helped us understand how we can help hedgehogs if we find one.
Last Day of the Autumn Term - We had lots of fun on the last day of term, competing in quizzes, dancing and we even had a visit from Santa.
Christmas Jumper Day - We had lots of festive fun, whilst wearing our Christmas jumpers!
Great Fire of London - We spent a week learning about the Great Fire of London. We enjoyed learning about how London was rebuilt and having a go at being a baker ourselves.
Happy Halloween - We all enjoyed dressing up in Halloween costumes. Our teacher was very scared!
Egyptian Day - To end of topic on Ancient Egypt we dressed up as Egyptian and took part in a range of activities. We enjoyed creating pyramids and tombs for a pharaoh and having a go at Egyptian dancing.
