Diwali
Our reception children have been learning about the Hindu story of Rama and Sita. They have been very crafty making celebration cards which can be given to people to celebrate the festival of light, known as Diwali. We have also been looking at Mehndi patterns which are painted on peoples hands and feet and diyas which signify that good will win over evil and light the way for the goddess Lakshmi. Lots of children attempted to make some bright and colourful rangoli patterns and everyone even go to taste some foods. Some children really enjoyed the tasting session and had seconds while some children thought they were too spicy, but everyone was really keen to try.
