Vocabulary Week
Wednesday 2nd March 2022 - Friday 4th March 2022
This week year 1 have been completing a vocabulary festival! This included celebrating 'World Book Day' where all the children chose their favourite word and dressed up as that word.
We read these books during the week by the Author Peter H Reynolds:
Then we completed activities around these books and other vocabulary activities and games, including;
-Creating vocabulary airplanes and launching them for others to find and read;
-Creating our magic magnifying glass and going to the library to hunt for new and exciting words;
-Playing headbanz game;
-Visiting say something stations where we could create words from different objects;
-Creating a story verbally from a picture book;
-Playing lots of drama games: and
-writing down favourite words from the week and visiting year 2 to share our new words and definitions!
