Year 4 - Panama 2023/24
Multiplication Tables Check Update
Welcome to Panama Hats!
Your teachers this term are Mrs Bloomer and Miss Downes and we are looking forward to working with you on our topic, Virtual Europe, especially with the positive attitude we have already seen! It is fabulous seeing how proud you are of the work you are doing.
In maths, we will develop our knowledge of fractions and decimals, and continuing our preparation for the Multiplication Tables Check in June.

- Spelling tests will take place on Friday mornings. Please practise each night up to the day of the test.
- Homework will be sent home on Fridays.
- We read in class everyday, so please remember to bring your reading book into school everyday. Try to read at home as often as possible too.
- Times tables are very important this year so please use your login to practise your times tables at least twice a week!
Reading, spellings and times tables are our skills priorities in Year Four. Make sure you practise these regularly.
At the end of the year, we will have the national Multiplications Tables Check, where we will be recalling all the times tables up to 12 x 12 in less than 6 seconds per question. We have already started work on this, using the Macarena and card games. You can do this at home, as well as practising on TT Rock Stars. Our card game is a fun way for all the family to practise the tables- ask your child to show you how we play.
