Forest Schools
Forest Schools will take place on Tuesday. Children should bring in wellies and appropriate clothing for their sessions (please see kit list below). Some of the children will also be joining their year group for regular sessions. Please speak to a member of the Bluebells team for more information about this.
PE
We will be taking part in Sensory circuits and yoga for 30 minutes in the morning.
Our usual PE sessions will be on Friday. We ask children to come to school wearing their P.E kit on Friday only.
Toast
Toast is available to buy daily at a cost of £1 per week. Please send your child’s money into school in a named envelope.
Reading
We will be using the Little Wandle reading scheme to focus on your child's phonics and reading skills. They will have three reading sessions a week and your child will explore a rich and varied range of texts and vocabulary in their reading sessions.
Your child will be given a reading book which will go home on Friday and to be returned on Monday.
English
In English we have chosen a range of text types so your child will have a broad and rich diet in their learning. We will be focussing on handwriting and spelling and we will be following Little Wandle phonics scheme and Spelling Shed for spelling.
Maths
In maths we will be following Mastering Number and White Rose Maths. We will also be using the Birmingham Assessment tool kit to ensure your child will be covering objectives for their specific needs.
Science
In Bluebells, we really enjoy giving the children the opportunity to explore the natural world and all things scientific. Each week we will explore science linked to our topic with practical activities and hands-on learning.
TT Rockstars and Spelling Shed
Your child has a Numbots and Times-Table Rockstar login. This is a great website that is used throughout our school by children wanting to develop and practise their number work and time-tables.
Your child has a Spelling Shed login, so they can practise their spellings at home by playing lots of fun games. There is a Spelling Shed App and this charges a small, one off, fee to download. You can still access Spelling Shed for free via the website.
Please talk to a member of the Bluebells Team is you require assistance with accessing these websites.
