Baking For The Christmas Fayre
We had great fun making some delicious shortbread biscuits and cupcakes for the Christmas Fayre. We decorated the biscuits with icing and edible eyes and made the cupcakes into snowmen. We raised a lot of money for the school and we made a big mess!
We recreated the Great Fire of London this week by burning the houses that we had made in DT. It was very exciting!

Great Fire of London Topic Launch
On the first day back after half term, we had an exciting topic launch. We lit a fire to inspire us to come up with some more challenging vocabulary to help us with our English work - writing bonfire and firework poems. We then had to uncover objects from the ash afterwards to give us clues as to what our topic would be. We really enjoyed sifting through the ash to unearth the artifacts.
We wrote a diary inspired by Samuel Pepys. We made the room as dark as possible and lit candles to give us more of an idea of what it would have been like to live in 1666.
