Year Five - Badgers

Our first topic this year was Superheroes.  At the end of our topic, we decided to write letters to our real life heroes and explain to them why we considered them to be a hero.   Lily and Joseph both chose to write to JK Rowling as they adore her books and wanted to let her know how she had inspired them to read (Lily had never read a novel before reading the first Harry Potter book). After they wrote their letters, we found the address of her publisher and we posted them. They were both absolutely over the moon when they were given their replies.

Take One Picture

During the Take One Picture project, Year 5's theme was Rainbows.

We created a rainbow themed bird display using chalk pastels. Our birdcage consisted of threaded beads, tin foil and paper flowers to create a brightly coloured sculpture

Finally, we looked at how light is separated into the colours of the rainbow to produce a sunset bird on a wire picture, together with our bird inspired poems.
