Topic – Traditional Tales

Our topic for this half term is on Traditional Tales. We will be learning all about materials (Three Little Pig link), looking at maps (story map links) and primary colour.

We are starting the term by reading the stories of The Three Little Pigs, The Billy Goat Gruff and Cinderella. The children will be reading the story and completing lots of activities about the book (lists, captions, retelling, sequencing events)

This half term, we will be focusing on the place value of numbers up to and beyond 20. We will be learning how to represent these numbers in different ways and how to compare and order them. We will teach the children how to solve problems involving the place value of numbers.

We will be learning about the season of autumn. We will also be learning to classify materials and looking at the properties of materials.
